Cranial Adjustment
Cranial Adjustment—Misalignment of the joints of the skull and face (head) can affect other areas of the body, especially if these occur due to trauma. Even if the trauma is apparently mild, the entire nervous system can be affected through tissue such as the meninges.
Birth trauma, especially when using instruments, can affect the alignment of the skull and the extremities. Poor posture can result in chronic muscular contraction, which can result in misalignment of the cranial bones. Incorrect dental alignment can also increase stress on the alignment of the facial and cranial bones.
To correct these misalignments, adjustments that utilize ounces to a few pounds of pressure are performed to correct this situation. Various procedures, including manual and instrumental, can be used to realign the joints.
