Qi Gong
Dr. Gibbs will be teaching and reviewing an internal energy exercise class, Yi Gun Gin (the classic of tendon exchange). This is a form of Qi Gong that strengthens the entire acupuncture system and energizes the whole body both internally and externally. The effect is both physical and mental. This form is used by the Shaolin monks to strengthen their internal energy. It also helps improve the movement of bodily fluids such as blood, synovial fluid, and lymph.
No equipment is needed, only space enough for a place to stand, and it can be performed at any time of the day. Anyone of any age should be able to perform this exercise. Even very fit athletes will benefit from this form.
Other short, stand-alone Qi Gong forms will also be taught.
Meridian/channel massage – facilitates the flow of Qi through the acupuncture system
Shaking – very good for the lymphatic system
Tian Hai Exercise (heaven/sky and ocean/deep water) – opens, lubricates, and strengthens the joints. This also improves coordination between the right and left hemispheres of the brain, leading to better mental and physical coordination.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes so that you can move around easily.
